I called today and got $30 for 12mbps with no modem/setup fees. My worry is that my internet speeds will be much slower than the comcast that I have now. Is 12mbps quick enough for streaming?

New customer here -- spoke to 3 CSRs and none of them would budge. Last guy waived all up-front fees and gave me 12mbps for $39. Not great in the least, but it looks like it's tough for new customers to get on this one.
I'll call them in 6 months and complain the price is too high to try to knock it down. Not crazy about paying $40 but what can you do...at least no equipment or installation fees. |

You don't get fluctuating speeds as you do with cable. He will see a constant speed of 10-11 mbps. For streaming Netflix and surfing the internet that's more than enough.
I was on 12 MBPS for years now. Never had an issue streaming Netflix HD to my wireless PC nor to my wireless television. Always ran smoothly. Hulu ran just as smooth as well. Last edited by LeonC; 03-09-2013 at 07:32 AM.. |

You misunderstood my post.I was saying yes that it IS enough.In my experience with ATT 12 mgb when watching online videos on places like Youtube or other movie channels ,sometimes on the weekends when theres a lot more people watching it can take longer to buffer.

I called today as new customer to get $28/1 year deal, rep says he can only get me 39.99 for 12 mbps with free modem I did not order now, any other way to get this deal I am in FL

I called yesterday, well mainly bc my DSL promotion ended and they wouldn't give me another, and those whole area is being forced to switch to Uverse, but I got 12mbps for $25.50 with free modem/router and half off installation so it is $25.

Got Uverse installed today. I was offered 50% off of 12 Mbps. Free installation, however i was being charged $6 monthly for the modem lease. The rep said it can only be leased not free. Something about my location has different wiring, i.e. copper vs fiber. Anyone have that experience? I even talked to the installation guy and he said all modems are for leased
