Warranty isn't what I would call "superlative". You have to pay shipping to them and they ship you back a used or refurbished pair. Its better than a 1 year warranty I suppose, but calling it superlative is simply absurd.

Every around the ears I have tried end up hurting my ears after about 30-45 minutes. I guess maybe I have large ears or something. Anyone know if these accommodate large ears, or what a good pair of AE's for large ears would be?

Get the Senn 201. They go over the ear, not around, but will accomodate larger ears and even comfy with eyeglasses---plus if you watch SD you will find them for $15 or less

The Sennheiser 5 series. I have a 3-year old set of HD555's and they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned.

I wear them all day at work (up to 8 hours in a single stretch) with no problems... even with my glasses.

My only complaint is that A) they're discontinued (but the 595's are similar but better) and B) after several years they cracked at the hinge from spreading them open to put on my fat head every day for so many years... so I got some JB STIK and stuck it on the side. All better!

I can leave my ANC9s on forever without discomfort. Some people leave them on 8-9 hours a day. It's the memory foam pads. They just conform to you head, even with glasses on.

$23 for these 419's(my limit for these) if your Best Buy has them...I like my $5 Newegg HD201's better

I'd recommend the Sony MDR-XB500s. [amazon.com] But really, you need to go somewhere and try some on. Ordering online is risky for fit.

Or just stick with on-ear designs.

Can someone describe the difference between around-the-ear and over-the-ear? I thought they were the same. If not, I'd think around-the-ear would be larger...

While I love my 598s, I wouldn't say they are that much larger if at all. The tops of my lobes still make contact.

not good deal, amazon has these for about $38, $7 savings isn't much.
