Does anybody know if the amd A10 5800k was one of their combo cpus before. I was thinking of getting it but I think I remember it being a part of the combo deals before but it's not listed now and I dont wanna waste the money if it will be again. I like the fx 6300 price esp since it is part of the combo but the AM3+ matx MBs seem kinda sucky. I had been planning on getting an i5 from them but can't really justify the extra price esp with the new intels a couple months down the road. Im not really in hurry, but I dont really wanna wait 4 months for the new cycle from intel and maybe longer from amd. Also what is the advantage of the pcie3 on the newer intel MBs? I just read that amd isnt gonna support it anytime soon which makes it seem kinda irrelevant since they make gpus. I just wanna be able to play some semi new gamesand was planning on getting a gfx card(7770) at some point. I guess I am going for a semi HTPC and mid gaming pc.

I'm not a fanboy either way. I've built both AMD and Intel PCs. I have an Intel now and while the AMDs are tempting in terms of performance-to-price ratio, I think the difference in wattage will cost $25-50 more per year in electricity costs for someone who runs their PC 24x7 like I do (even though it doesn't necessarily do much work much of that time). So your upfront cost savings with AMD can be eaten up quickly in terms of ongoing power consumption.

Okay I enjoy AMD and the competition it gives to intel, but seriously?

They raised price on the i5 so only deal here is with the i3 but they did $60 off combo before.

For AMD, the deal is with the FX-4100 which is same price before. They raised price on higher models but couple AMD boards are now discounted.

The real deal was actually 2 weeks ago when they had $25 off any one item. That made $65 off their combos.

Which MOBO would you say is the best value to get with this as an FX-4100 combo (I need ATX by the way)? Also, do you need to bring the ad scan with you to the store?

They had a crazy deal on the Asrock Extreme 6 for $49 after all offers. Both the stores in my area ars OOS on that board.

So if anyone is looking for a cheap Intel combo TH i3 3225 w/ Asrock Extreme 6 is the way to go

MC is great, was able to get them to adjust the price of my order I got last week. Also picked up the G550 CPU for $35, they weren't going to give it to me at first because of "each customer only being allowed to buy 1 CPU" but they gave in. Now let the building begin!
