I had one of these. They are so slow that they end up being completely useless. Yes, I rooted it and installed the custom ROM. Still, too slow to every be used.

Yes, they are slow and battery life is not great, but as a cheap e-reader, they are fine and you won't break the bank if you lose it. |

This thing is such a piece of garbage that after returning it I never touched a Pandigital product again and never shopped at that store again for carrying such junk.
For 20 bucks it might be something for a tinkerer/maker though. |

Nice price, maybe the cheapest tab yet. What's stopping me is the battery and wifi. 1600mAh is a cel phone battery. That's not enough to for a 7 inch screen. For comparison the first gen Nook Color battery was 3200mAh. And it is a used battery. And there are reports of wifi issues. And it has a resistive nonresponsive screen. Still...
If you keep it on its stand and only use it for an hour at a time, close to a router, it might work for some dedicated applications, like a kitchen recipie thing. Thanks Slickdealers:

This thing is trash. I bought one a refurb from Best Buy earlier this month for $33 and it just died last night. It had constant wifi connection issues where it would randomly just disconnect and then finally it wouldn't boot. It got stuck in a loop while booting and after resetting, it just won't turn on at all. It's going back to the store and I'm just getting a cheap tablet from Amazon. I won't touch another Pandigital product.
I know the thing is slow, but I just wanted something for my mom to check email with... it didn't even last long enough to give to her. |

you can hacked it to run android, doesn't mean that it will do it well. you don't buy a yugo and expect ferrari performance out of it. |
