Wouldn't recommend this tab. Sold mine and got a Nexus. The bad viewing angle really will get annoying. The screen seemed less responsive too.
EDIT: I had the A2109. If this has a better screen this seems pretty slick. Last edited by Davy12D; 02-03-2013 at 08:12 AM.. |

The build quality of the nexus 7 for $200 is great for that price range. I'm impressed with what google (nexus), blackberry(playbook), and amazon(kindle fire 1+2) are able to do with $200 tablets (although blackberries initial playbook price was substantially higher). The build quality of all 3 is outstanding in comparison to tablets like the archos g9, nook color, or lenovo a1. That is my fear with this tablet, that the build quality will reflect that of the k1, flimsy. I'm not using this tablet as a server for my empire.............its a casual use device, this thing packs plenty punch for casual use. I just know if the build quality is like the k1 I had, I wont be too happy. Simply too much flex, tablets need a really solid feel even if it comes at the expense of some extra weight. I don't see this tablet offering that. A review I watched showed fingermarks in the screen with not much bending of the build, similar to what the archos g9 flaws are. Also when comparing this to a nexus 7, realize the nexus 7 is the best price/value point for the 7" segment (unless you go into stuff I consider private label china, stuff thats not marketed like ainol or it use to be zenithinks, etc.). Even Asus is struggling to launch their own 7" $150 tablet to compete with the $200 nexus they made for google. They have to drop the gpu and cpu like crazy as well as the display quality to reach $50 lower, and I don't think thats worth the savings. So comparing this to the nexus 7 is the toughest test for it, but they are 2 completely different tablets. One being 10", slower, but lots of options and the other being a 7" locked down powerhouse for only $200. For $160 this is a steal, just wish the build quality was better. The ports are there to make this a dynamic tablet, the processor could be better but meh, would it get this great of a discount then? There's reason for the Google nexus 10 to cost double what a 7" nexus cost, they simply don't have enough ports on the 7. Google does that intentionally, they also don't have the card slot, or else the nexus 10 might as well just have 1 storage option. This lenovo tablet really doesn't establish a real stronghold for buyers, so the marketing of the tablet is fairer to consumers, ya just got a cut it some slack with the processor. I also think that 10" really kicks up the value of a tablet to most people. Been following tablets a LOOOOONG time and had enough of them to know this IS a deal, I said it when this was posted like friday I think. Thought it was FP worthy but people were refering too much to reviews to see its a 10" ips display, android 4.0, and storage upgradable tablet (even hdmi out 1080p). Those reviews were at a $350 price point, what would they be at a $200 price point? Probably amazing, and if you can save $40 getting it refurbed, I'd do that too. Great post FP, much love for this deal. Last edited by woomer051; 02-03-2013 at 05:06 AM.. |

Well said. Its a $161 10" tablet from a reputable manufacturer. It is what it is, and at this price it merits front page. |

My trigger point is: a name brand 10" dual core for $150. Shouldn't be too hard to find. BTW, last mother's day I bought my wife a refurb Acer A500 for $249. She absolutely loves it and has used it every day since then. Bought from an Amazon reseller but made sure it was factory refurb. Had a/c adapter included, not like Cowboom bullsh_t. |
