so is this deal dead?
Also, I own a PS3, Xbox 360, a Wii, and gaming PC. The PC by FAR gets more usage than the other 3 combined. If a game comes out on PC and console I get it on PC. It's just superior in every farking way and you're just too poor to experience that if you disagree Last edited by narek23; 02-01-2013 at 08:31 AM.. |

Yes, my $1500 computer cost more than a console. However, I use it for more than my console will do as well. If all you do is get on facebook and look at pictures of cats then you probably don't need more than a cheap tablet. If you console game exclusively, feel free. For myself, I have been buying fewer console games overall (except Wii games amusingly now that I think about it) because most of the single player games I play can be done just as well if not better on my computer and through Steam without paying any online surcharge like a Live or Sony network subscription and I tend to get games cheaper and can play them anywhere with controls I like. Components need replaced. Yup, you are correct. That includes consoles. How old is the console you use most for those AAA games that you like touting about? The system is woefully slow and if you were stupid enough to get a regular version the first out of the box system update filled almost all your memory. Nintendo screwed the pooch IMO on the release - they wanted it before Christmas but the software and games weren't ready. LuckyLuciano - voted most likely to be fragged.

I'll admit the games weren't that great at launch but I think NintendoLand is very fun (it came with my Deluxe edition) and the New Mario game gets rave reviews. If you are buying a Nintendo system you are most likely buying it for Mario and those sort of games with Nostalgia. Last edited by Genius4sho; 02-01-2013 at 12:52 PM.. Remember to share the love! if they made the wii U more powerful, then the cost would be higher. and you guys are already complaining about the price point at $350. then you guys go on to praise the next xbox or playstation, which makes no sense because those systems will cost $500 - $800 or more! not to mention, we dont even have much information about those systems. as for the games, any launch on any console wont be too great. the ps3 and xbox360 launches were even worse. honestly, it seems like some of these anti-nintendo guys are the most immature people out there. if you dont like nintendo, thats fine, but theres no reason to spout hate everywhere. |

Also, I didn't state either was superior. I merely stated a fact of why there is no longer the arms race that there once was in computer builds. I also stated "from my experience" as how things have worked out in my life. I made no assumptions about what would work best for other people nor did I direct anyone to change what they are doing based on my preference. Thanks for playing. |

Haha, yeah I've actually been using PlayOn with my PS3 for a few years. The main thing I was using it for was to stream ESPN3 to my PS3. But I still have to have a cable subscription to have access to ESPN3. Now I mostly just beam games from the Watch ESPN app to my Apple TV. And I'm kind of anal about my home theater...I hate having switches around, I used to have an RCA switch when I had my PS2, Gamecube, Wii, and DVD player and I would now rather just use my receiver to do all my switching. Plus I really honestly am out of shelf space. I have an old Samsung LED projection TV and have to keep my center channel speaker on a shelf on it's own. But anyways, thanks for the suggestions! |

The WiiU has some serious problems in price, performance and games. Just because one points that out doesn't mean I am anti-Nintendo. |

As to the WiiU basic - after the first system update to have almost no free memory left for downloading anything isn't very good. That, the slow menu speeds and very few games at launch speaks to a rushed system released before it is ready. Its great that the system can take a hard disk but it's not exactly a great selling point for the basic - get it cheap and then need a hard disk for the 2nd update. NintendoLand is great, my kids love it and I even like playing it and the new Mario is fantastic but Nintendo promised games at launch that aren't ready yet. Vaporware didn't go over well in the 80's, 90's, 00's or today. |

you also conveniently skipped my point when you were spouting more of that hate, so ill repost it below. hopefully, you will read to achieve this time. if they made the wii U more powerful, then the cost would be higher. and you guys are already complaining about the price point at $350. then you guys go on to praise the next xbox or playstation, which makes no sense because those systems will cost $500 - $800 or more! not to mention, we dont even have much information about those systems. as for the games, any launch on any console wont be too great. the ps3 and xbox360 launches were even worse. as for your other concerns regarding the system space on the basic unit and menu speeds... i actually like the fact that nintendo gave people the option to choose to have less space. its a cheaper alternative! i dont know about you, but i like choices. most people have an extra USB flash drive, SD card, or external harddrive lying around. the menu/system speed isnt slow or anything. i browse the internet on it all the time and its the same speed as my girlfriend's expensive apple laptop. if the menu speed does bother you, then just wait. nintendo will be increasing it with a system update. theres no need to keep saying its slow. again, please stop posting all that hate. it doesnt do anyone any good. |
