Not very practical except in very limited situations. You cannot travel out more than five miles and be guaranteed you will get back. You do need a helmet. It may, in some states, require registration and insurance or even be illegal to ride on public roads. You can't go the same speed as traffic, so it is more like the speed of a bike, so why not get an electric bike? Will likely tick off drivers that cannot get around you on a public road and have to drive 10 MPH waiting for their chance to pass. Needs to be able to carry cargo to make it suitable for errands like grocery shopping. Needs to be stored, so you need a cover or a place in the garage or shed. Just isn't practical. Would get it. Use it a few times and then relegate it to the basement or garage.
