Mine has been flashing weird. I'm not sure whether its my Boxee Box or something else. I will test it with my Xbox today.
But when I play something with the Boxee. Right as I hit play, the screen goes black, I heard the sound and then 3-4 seconds later the image comes up, and my TV input flashes, kind of like I just plugged my HDMI cable into the TV. I don't know whether this is normal. Could be my Boxee so I will check with other components. |

The clicking when switching inputs is normal. Some receivers do this, some don't. One of my Denon receivers even clicks when hitting mute/un-mute. There is a slight static like effect when switching options on the OSD, but it's no biggie and doesn't happen when nothing is pressed.

Mine was available today for in store pickup. I was able to use a Staples $30 off $90 coupon (good for online or phone orders) that came in the mail as well. Probably YMMV, but I asked for a competitor price match and the manager did not find anything in BBY policy that "specifically excluded" the coupon so he allowed it.

I have successfully connected the gaming console and blue ray player to the onkyo receiver and sounds great.
But i'm not finding the way to connect my cable tv to my receiver. I have a cable connection which is a screw type one. Can someone please suggest me how to connect? Thanks |

EDIT: Just noticed you stated no cable box. That said you'll need to pick up a converter which allows you to convert your coax connection to a component connection. Do you have HDMI input on your TV? EDIT 2: Apparently there is no "converter" for RF Coax to Component. That said, you probably wouldn't want to do it anyway as the picture would most likely be worse. Looks to me like you're simply going to have to run the coax directly to the TV bypassing the receiver. Then run audio out from the TV to the audio in on the receiver. Not sure you'll have any other option without either purchasing a Tivo or upgrading to digital cable. Last edited by lzzrdboy; 02-12-2013 at 08:15 AM.. Peace!

Just got the set last night. This is replacing a 10 year old RCA HTIB with an RT2500 receiver. It has been pretty faithful, but the LCD display has been almost unreadable for the last couple years and no HDMI ports
It will probably find a few more years use in the gameroom upstairs, which still has a 27" tube TV.Hooked up the front speakers, center, and sub last night to do some testing. Not sure I'll connect the surround speakers.. mainly because it is going in an open, two story living room and I'm not sure how to even mount them. So far I'm pretty happy, especially for $150. The voices are much easier to hear now over sound effects/music than on my old set. One thing I am slightly depressed about is it doesn't appear that you can pass a component signal through the HDMI to the TV? I guess you need an upconverting receiver to do that? I really wanted to connect the Wii to the receiver also and just have one HDMI cable going to the TV, but when I do I can't get a video signal to the TV. Am I out of luck getting the Wii to display over the HDMI out from the receiver? |

Ah! Same here - I tried hooking up m PS2 via Component and I could not figure out what was wrong, it took me like an hour of messing with it before I realized I couldn't hook it up. I just hooked it up to my TV and that's it. I think you can make it work if you hook it into your receiver and then use component out on the receiver into the TV. I choose not to do this because of the extra wire and you still have to switch the input on the TV to get it to work. |

It took almost two weeks to arrive and the setup was painful only because of the tight cutouts and narrow spacing between shelves in the entertainment center. I am sore all over from kneeling and contorting all afternoon with a flashlight in my mouth, but today everything is put back and it is so great. My receiver was 20 years old, and although it had some nice Bose speakers, it was hardly worth it to fire up, since so few components I owned still plugged into it. This is my first HT and the connectivity is miraculous to me. I saw all the buttons on the remote for the different devices and was just grateful I would be able to switch over with one remote, but after the ARC and RIHD (which sounded like it was only for Sharp and Toshiba sets) were turned on, I found the 'HDMI Through' automatically switches over and plays that device's sound. If the receiver is turned off, the audio goes back to the TV, but best of all, when I turned off the TV for the night, the receiver automatically shut off as well - and fired up this morning when I turned the set on. Wow. Just. Wow.
