i already cancelled one order with newegg. now based on your link I think I will have to cancel my 430 watts PSU and get this one instead, coz 600w obviously worth for me for another $3

You can make any of those very quiet. It all depends whether you need 2 extra cores for what you do.
Since the latest Adobe and a lot of simulation software do take advantage of GPU acceleration, you may want to research that and get an i3 with an appropriate GPU (if Intel is not supported).

Looking at the picture a little more closely, this looks like the Ultra Limited Edition 600W. Google Tiger's product number and you'll get the same result. Based on this Tom's Hardware [tomshardware.com] chart, that PSU is also made by Channel Well. Basing this off of another forum I read, anything with a voltage switch is pretty outdated. Also, the Ultra does not claim any sort of efficiency, where the Corsair is 80 Plus Bronze (which may only mean they like to pay money for stickers... one may never know). Finally, the Ultra has 2 +12V rails @ 20A, which may or may not play well with more current components, which seem to favor a more powerful single rail (Corsair has a 46A single).

If I'm wrong on any of this, someone please correct me. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not on the cutting edge of PSU knowledge.

No idea what your specific needs are with regards to Adobe, but don't be scared off by the "i3" nature of it. It actually ranks higher than some of the Ivy Bridge i5 laptop processors (like the i5-3360M) on cpubenchmark [cpubenchmark.net]. It's only 2 cores but with hyperthreading, whereas the i5 has 4 physical cores but no HT. Probably not a huge difference. Same (decent) graphics, so I'd guess you're paying a bit extra for the higher clock speed (especially under certain applications)?

Guess it depends on whether the extra $100 is worth it to you...

i5-3360M is 2.8GHz dual core HT, not quad core.

The i5 OP is referring to is a very different beast than the 3225 he is referring to, especially for his applications.

i'm using the 500w version of this (cx500) on a home server. i got an i3 2100, adaptec 6805 raid card, 8x 2tb seagate barracuda green, 3x 3tb seagate 7200rpm, and an ocz 120gb ssd. it's running windows server 2012. the series is a capable psu. i'd buy this without hesitation if i needed one. i may buy it anyway for a backup. corsair psu are great. i haven't rma'd 1 yet. i have rma'd a cooler master though.
