I was always wondering about this. For those of you who really know the food service industry, is it customary to tip on take-outs? I don't want to hear from the true SDers because I already know what those answers will be Stick Out Tongue
If you are the kind of person that likes to tip at a donut shop or a McDonald's, then go for it. However, the people handling the take-out orders at restaurants at Outback are essentially doing the same thing as the donut shop and McDonald's worker, and these jobs do not customarily warrant a tip because they are not waiting on you.

There are, nonetheless, other situations where I think tipping is appropriate even though you are not being waited on. At a buffet that involves no waitstaff (i.e. where you are handling all of your own food, including drinks) I will usually leave a dollar or two per diner for the busboy if there is one working.

I use to work in the food service industry for almost 4 years. It is not expected you tip on take-out but some people do and it is appreciated. In fact, if you want the most appreciation per dollar, that would be the way to go.
When I pick up my take-out orders from restaurants, the food is almost always already fully prepared and sitting there waiting for me, so I don't see how a tip would help you get more "appreciation" at that point. Maybe the worker will throw a bigger smile at you as you leave, but that's about it.

I just recalled seeing on page one of this thread last night that someone said it might be YMMV since the coupon said something about outback of florida. Figured it was worth asking before giving it a shot.

Outback Steakhouse of Florida, LLC is the name of the entity that operates and franchises the Outback Steakhouse restaurants. They are, as the name suggests, based in Florida. nod

Definitely taking advantage of this. Thanks OP.

We've been OB customers for ~20 years in 6+ states. We love the sirloin, garlic masked potatoes, and steamed veggies dinner. Their fries and salads are decent too.

I'll agree it's no Ruth's Chris but at 1/3 the price, we are regular patrons. I'll take three trips to Outback vs one to Ruth's unless it's a special occasion. Oh, and with the kids I'm not embarrassed if one of them dumps a drink at OB.

Got the steak with veggies and chicken on the bar-b with veggies. That chicken was the tiniest thing in the world. Think of the size of the grilled chicken you get from the McDonald's sandwich. Now cut that in half.

The only thing is a good deal is probably the burgers which are 10 bucks each and coupon applied is total at around 5$ ea per burger... go to in n out and get the same quality
Flemings, Ruth Chris are expensive steak house. Outback is middle road demographic. I guess if your're used to Sizzler or Golden Corral, Outback might be upper end.

$16.99 for a 10 oz Ribeye with one side and can't choose a salad, I can go to Texas Roadhouse and get a 16 oz with two sides for $19.99
