People these days have way too high of an expectation for these chain "restaurants". This is not the place you go for quality strip steak. TBH I don't understand why these places are still holding up. Their menus get change once every blue moon; Their meats(i know for sure the shrimps) are usually frozen.

If you want good food just whip up something you get at the local farmer's market. If you don't want to stay in, there are tons of local mom and pop restaurants that need our business too.

I'll bet if i cooked you two batches of shrimp one frozen and one not you wouldn't know the difference.....wait...isnt ALL shrimp flash frozen when its caught??

You can call your nearest Outback to place your order and they will bring it out to your car or you can go in to pick it up.

The Outback special is my favorite steak dollar-for-dollar on the planet. I love the seasoning and flavor. I have had my share of $50 steak dinners, but I certainly have never had any that are 6 or 8 tmes better than the Outback special. I love to get that, the garlic mashed taters, and the wedge salad (with ranch instead of blue cheese tho). That would probably be my last meal request if I ever found myself on death row.....lol.

Yep, a perfect response to someone posting a link to a pledge to get books into kids' hands.

Tipping on takeout orders?!? What is this highly unslick madness you speak of? OMG
I was always wondering about this. For those of you who really know the food service industry, is it customary to tip on take-outs? I don't want to hear from the true SDers because I already know what those answers will be Stick Out Tongue

Also, can anyone confirm whether or not Outback would take the coupon from a phone? TIA

never been there but the yelp reviews are good to check before going

3 stars out of 5...
Yelp reviews are reviews of the specific location; not of the entire franchise. And many times in yelp reviews, it is about the service and atmosphere as much as it is about the food. Some people are quite fickle about waiting for a table or waiting on food and will easily knock 1 to 4 stars off if they feel the service is not up to snuff, regardless of the quality of food.

But anyways, i think their ribeye is the best out of any chain restaurant i've tried. Portions are fine. They are not 'super-sized' like Claim jumpers or anything; that's just too much.

I've never tipped on takeout.

IMO, If you weren't waited on, and there's no tables to clean or dishes to take back and clean, then there's no tip.

Is this standard practice? I always tip on take out, so I don't look bad, lol.

I use to work in the food service industry for almost 4 years. It is not expected you tip on take-out but some people do and it is appreciated. In fact, if you want the most appreciation per dollar, that would be the way to go.
