Honestly, at $99 this beats any motherboard you can get from any seller for this price. @ $49 its a steal

I'm in the same boat. I was keeping an eye on the extreme4. I doubt that'll ever get down to this price though. Unless the has some kind of manufacturing defect or something like that, you'll probably not regret getting it.

A question for the community here. I bought the i5-3570k + Asrock Extreme4 combo last month at Microcenter. They're both still in the box on my table at home, as I was going to put them together this weekend. Is it worth it to return the Extreme4 for the Extreme6? The price would be the same since the processor is now $20 more than last month, and the Extreme6 is $20 less than I paid for the Extreme4.

Basically, should I drive the 30 minutes it takes to go to Microcenter to swap out the Extreme 4 for the Extreme6? What are the key differences in the two boards?

Much better parts used in the extreme6 versus extreme4. They are not pretty much the same board.

Great price. I used this board on a 2 7 0 0 k build in November. Very pleased, and it comes with a usb 3 front panel -- worth $10+ if you need it.

nice deal, 10 days ago,got i3-3225/ASROCK mITX board. No need for this. Looks like Fry's is catching up with the combo deals of late. :-)

They really are very similar.

All I had heard was that they Extreme6 is substantially more prone to failure than the Extreme4, and is generally not a very large improvement. I wish I had paid better attention to the issues the other posters had, but I was looking at a different board at the time and paid it no mind, sorry.

$240 + tax from MC, another ~$7-12 for shipping, + $10 for personal "profit" and another $9 for Paypal fees, probably looking at around $280-285.

great price on this, I got my extreme 4 and i5 3570k and its just as reliable as the gigabyte UD3p and q9650 that it replaced. Uses less power and OC's great

My thoughts exactly! I added the i3 3225 + Extreme6 + Samsung 540 Pro 128GB to the cart, but I do not see the $20 off of the SSD.

BYW, the Extreme6 has the Intel Gigabit NIC vs. the Realtek NIC in the Extreme4.

Getting ready for a build now. Is the i5 3570K worth the extra as opposed to the i5 2500K. I can sell the i5 2500k and make about 50.00 and get this combo. I picked up the i5 2500k at MC when they had them for 100.00. Was really looking for a MB until I saw this this morning in my email. So basically each combo would cost me about 200.00 with either processor and MB. Thanks.
