I bought this last time it was $13 or so after rebate. Certainly worth the money. First of all, update the firmware. There are like 10 different versions of firmware that all change the tracking and lift-off distance to different levels. I forget which one I have but you can probably look up online which ones are best. Next thing that I'll say is that this mouse is a little light for my tastes. It's certainly very well-made and not cheap feeling, but because of the weight it feels like the movement is a little loose, even at low DPI. I thought my MX518 was better for tracking in FPS's, even though this one is supposed to have a "perfect sensor." That said, it could just be because I'm playing CS:GO, which has some reg problems anyway. At any rate, this is a pretty solid mouse, and a great back-up mouse if you're in the market. It's also good if you're a fan of optical over laser, like I am. |

Maxed window speed and 2000 DPI is pretty fast though. I suppose to clarify since who knows who's reading, the cursor speed on the screen can still move as fast as you can move the mouse, but the DPI is about being able to cross more distance on the screen with lesser mouse movement. Moving the mouse 8" to go from one side of the screen to the other gets old quick unless you need that much precise movement. I've always gotten Cooler Master rebates; even had no trouble with the free fans a while back, (though others did). They're slow, but they arrive. This is a good deal even without free shipping. Great deal. I have the spawn (don't know if xornet was available at the time) and love it. I've been through several mice now and this is my favorite since I'm a claw grip. I could probably be fine with a xornet since I play at mid dpi setting anyway. Love the feel and switches are great. No problems at all after having it nearly a year now.

I bought this mouse a while back in August from Newegg.
(1) They lost the rebate. No record at all when I called. I was able to fax in a copy and received my check about a month later. 2) I realize that picking a mouse is like picking a religion, but I prefer the Logitech G400 for gaming. I tried if for about a month of gaming, after my old Logitech died. But eventually gave up and bought another Logitech. |
