I got one of these right around the time that the Tsunami hit Japan; just before the prices of hard drives went up. It has proven to be a reliable drive. I use it as a backup drive for my Mac, using Time Machine.

I spent 119.99 during black friday event for USB 3. So, 20 bucks less for USB 2. So I guess its a OK deal.

Oh yeah. With both disasters within such a short time frame of each other, I got the cause of the hard drive shortage confused. The Tsunami was the cause of other electronics shortages. Was it iPhone components?

Anyhow, disasters aside, the hard drive seems solid so far.
