I almost bought this, but I'm going to have to hold off on purchasing. From the look of things , there is some fundamental issue with the way the router was designed that is preventing custom firmwares for it. |

Big question is if cloud is disable otherwise Cisco will store all your traffic info.
BTW, this router is this price for last whole month so it is not a sale. |

According to ddwrt forum, there is progress on this router and they will start beta testing pretty soon. So I guess buying it now is a good bet.

Is there any difference between this and the older e3000? I love how Linksys just re-releases the same products with new model numbers. In this case it actually got a numerical downgrade

The benefit of the "cloud" is that I can access the router remotely. I don't know why I need to, but it could be useful, in case if there's any outage when I'm not home. I had been looking for this feature because of the experience with my old router, but since this thing works well, I don't really need to access the router remotely. Interesting twist.
