Haha, I didn't even think about checking Big5! They probably do still have ammo in stock since their ammo prices were already so badly inflated.

What is the difference between this ammo and the WWB at my local Wally World? I bought 4 boxes of 100 rounds there earlier this week for ~$26 per box, including tax...

I ordered from them they are 100% legit However they WILL fully charge your Credit card and then say Shipping As Soon As Possible but can't say when that will be.

I decided to cancel my order, and bought some locally in person at Walmart at $8 a box same ammo

But they did cancel my order no problems. I think its a good site, and worth it if you have problem waiting a month or so. Good price too.

I betcha its OOS

Actually it is very simple. He didn't "order" 10k boxes, he added them to the cart to see if the site would reject it. In other words checking to see if it bounced against currently available stock.

So next time, genius, before you jump the gun and call someone an idiot, try kicking your grey matter into another gear, if you have one.

My guess is that the issue is extremely low stock/availability in certain parts of the country. This isn't strictly a reaction to recent events. WWB - especially in .45 - can be hard to find depending on where you live. Some folks' local Wally World's are overflowing with it, others rarely have it in stock.

That said, the stores near me almost always have WWB or the even cheaper Federal on the shelves. The Federal are - or were last time I checked - about $20/100.

How about apologizing for suggesting the poster was an idiot....Twice you posted and didn't once say...'sorry'.

I say the poster was trying to help, and is a very standard SD practice to determine inventory and...well...figure out if it is a good deal, slick deal...or bad deal....

Also, you mentioned twice about two other shops that don't use accurate inventory tracking...do they also charge your card in full before it ships? I ask, because it is worth calling out for those that might not want to assume that risk and put their money 'on loan'.

While I appreciate the OP posting a deal (for what current prices dictate), I would take the inventory info and call to ask about stock before advancing my money with no time frame as to when/if it will ship (probably less if...more when).

I need some 9mm but feel like I should wait until the laws get worked out as I am hoping the handgun ammo will normalize...but that isn't the first rule of SD

I can't believe how all the stores in my area are out of stock or so inflated I just can't buy a box...and don't want to use what I have. lol

My Wallys is out of everything but shotgun shells. I think I need a slick deal on a shotgun now!

Ok here's my take on the latest 'shortage'... especially for the common ones like these 9mm:
Everybody is loading up (pun intended) out of paranoia. At some point there will be a saturation and buyers will stop this frenzy buying since they have more in their gun safe than they realistically need. Then... shelves will be stocked, demand will drop off, and so will prices. (That might be what this seller is thinking too, btw)

Buy now, if you really need them... wait if you don't.
