Besides all that, I'm really liking this thing for what it is. I am triple booting Windows 7, Windows 8, and Android using the VHD method that was posted earlier in the thread. I like the touch interface with Windows 8 quite well, but Windows 7 seems to be working better for me. In Win 7, I am able to play 720p files very smoothly @ 23.976 FPS and pretty smooth (with the occasional hitch/jerk) at 29.970 FPS using Media Player Classic. I tried VLC, but the same videos were choppy. The same files were choppy regardless of what media player I used with Windows 8. muntu: I just tried those drivers for Windows 8 and so far haven't noticed much/if any change. I haven't messed with them for too long though, so maybe certain apps will run better/smoother? EDIT: Just tried out the Cut the Rope, Microsoft Minesweeper, and Microsoft Solitaire Collection apps and they are still too choppy to realistically play and the graphics for Solitaire are still glitched/messed up and unplayable. I'm still having troubles with this thing. It will not shut down on it's own (I have to hold the power button). It will always just restart and then tell me Windows recovered from a catastrophic event (paraphrasing).
I am in Windows 8 now and it's just not working very well. An exercise in frustration. I am thinking about doing a complete reinstall as my problems might come from using those stupid Chinese drivers originally that someone posted in the Wiki. Do you guys think a clean install of Windows 8 is in order (vs. installing 7 first and then upgrading)? I'm confident I can make this thing work well but it just needs a little hand holding a long the way I suppose. Also, YES, I also have trouble clicking the top right X in both 7 and 8. Frustrating indeed!!! My clicking noises mainly happen when I boot I believe. I do hear them every so often. |

The only thing which does not work is SDIO card reader, and it won't work until MS/Intel address it. |

What power source are you using for the drive? Have you tried looking at it in Android and seeing if it is detected after it boots (I have no idea if Android would see it or not because I avoid it like the plague, but if it did, that would be useful information). |

The touchscreen sensitivity around the edge is my main problem. Especially at the top edge (near the camera). I am strongly considering sending this back to viewsonic to address it, but afraid they won't be able to replace it if I do. If anyone comes up with a solution, please post! |

I got rid of Android, but it works in 8 so I know it's working properly. The BIOS just can't see the drive. I may try to use unetbootin to put the image on the flash drive tonight. That helped when I tried Debian. |

But I am too lazy to test it myself, besides, WEI doesn't make much sense anyway. Edit: And of course I was right. Screenshot is attached. Quite different results from Mrs. Troll
