4 hours life on battery scares me. It's even worse than any chinese knockoff tablet. Wait, did they time it with wifi off, low dim display, and standby mode?? So, when you actually using the tablet, it may last up to 2 hours?
I also notice that NEITHER REVIEW ON VIEWSONIC WEBSITE ACTUALLY PLAY THE TABLET ITSELF. They just hold the tablet and play the power point slide off the screen. Watch the hands on review on engadget, i just wondered why they made such tablet. |

I really don't see why are you guys complaining. For $149 you get a fanless system with 64GB SSD, 2GB Ram and 1280x800 IPS.
Read the reviews on tablets with the same specs but different brands - just about everybody can play AVI files with VLC as well as smooth flash videos. Yes, it might not be a $600 W8 tablet, but come on. Look at the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 for example. I am sure that if you tweak your W7 well enough, it will work pretty good. To me, this is even better than the TouchPad firesale. I am tempted to get another one. Last edited by kalinrs; 02-02-2013 at 06:06 AM.. |

I was excited to see this roll across my twitter feed and was worries when I got to work that it would be sold out. After watching the engadget video, I can see why it isn't...that thing is SLLLOOOOOWWWW. I could have tolerated SOME lag because of the price but that is unforgivable...people, seriously. Unless this tablet is for a 2 year old to use as a frisbee in the pool...don't waste your money.

Take a look at the cpu passmark chart [cpubenchmark.net] and find where atom Z670 is located....even P-III and VIA C7 are both more powerful. Imagine using P-III or C7 to run today's web browsers....and this is slower than that. There is still a hardware gap between x86/64 and ARM-based all-in-one chips. This is on sale for just that reason - it gives the user ability to run x86 software with unbearable slow speed unless you have lightweight linux on it - might as well get a used but more powerful netbook with win7 installed for less. |
