I have been looking for the best deal on a Windows tablet and came across these guys on Viewsonic's factory store:

Viewsonic Viewpad 10pi Windows 7 Tablet - $299
http://www.viewsonic.com/us/table...-10pi.html

Viewsonic Viewpad 10pi Windows 7 Ready Tablet - $149
http://www.viewsonic.com/us/table...no-os.html

Viewsonic must be blowing these out, because the cheapest price I could find for the $299 version with Windows 7 pre-installed is $499.99 on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Viewsonic-V...ewpad+10pi

I was able to buy that $39.99 Windows 8 upgrade special from Microsoft before it expired yesterday and was thinking about using that to do a clean install on the $149 version of this Viewsonic 10pi. That would give me a Windows 8 tablet for under $200.

What do you think? Does anyone know of a better deal out there on a Windows tablet?

Bagira, How'de you get dual boot with win8 on this??

You mentioned installing app. Did you install the win8 first?
thanks
Yep, delete the largest drive during Windows 8 install, on Win 8 install VRswitcher from the Viewsonic site, reboot and you are golden.

In fact you can switch to Android straight from Win8 running VRswitcher from Win 8 and selecting "Switch to Android".

Talked to customer service today to see why my order from a few days ago is still "pending" and they said they're still working on orders from LAST weekend. He couldn't give any estimate of when they'd catch up with fulfillment.

Yes.
No.

You can install the driver, but Wifi doesn't work anyway.

I pressed the reset button for awhile with a pencil and I was able to get it to come back on.

I received mine yesterday. Out of the box it would not turn on. I was able to push the little reset button on the bottom and that fixed that problem. The Andriod version is horrible. Everything just forced closed. I then spent hours trying to get WIFI working in Windows 7 Home Premium. I even reinstalled Windows 7 and it would work for a few minutes and then never work again. It just kept crashing Windows. I then downloaded a new version of the WIFI driver and it worked for a few minutes and then again same result. Interesting enough the WIFI did work in Andriod. I followed the exact instructions that Viewsonic supplied. Installed everything in the exact order that they requested. Also, the fan made a loud humming noise. The tablet runs loud. It sounds like a laptop. The screen quality looks nice. The Windows 7 ran really fast. Very responsive. The idea I think is great but the reality is that mine did not work. I sent it back today. I hope others have a better experience.

That sounds pretty close to what I'm going through now. Can you please tell me whether your copy of Windows had SP1 installed or not?
