I concur; even in a 2.1 configuration it sounds great with any ESW-8 clone. I've tried it with the tSC ASW-8 and the Pioneer SW-8 and it sounds pretty great. Good for when you have more desktop space than floor space, or for a 2.1 system for a bedroom TV with too small a shelf for anything bigger. These little speakers could also be paired up with a T-amp and used portably (just did that for a break; it was pretty brilliant...)

Care to elaborate why the 10"is lower quality? Got awesome reviews on Amazon and wondering if I should just return the 10"

Well the amp only has 55 Watts RMS, which is pretty low for a 10" sub. Plus it only goes up to 120 Hz, which doesn't seem like a great fit for smaller speakers like the Take Classic, which i believe only go down to 115Hz...

deal is practically dead unless you have a sears that actually stocks these. site won't ship and nothing within 50 milies for me. damn! was waiting for another deal on these speakers too

I just returned the take classics that I bought last week for $149.99 from Sears. In my 12x12 room, they sounded tinnie. I'm in for the sub though

If anyone is interested Sears also has the Energy EF-500 Tower Speakers (Pair) - Black Ash for $200+tax. Its not the lowest though. Good reviews on Newegg.

These towers are the same ones used in the Jamo S426 5.0 speaker set. Better value to buy at Amazon for $176 and get the additional center and surrounds for less than the Energy branded ones.[amazon.com].
