Sony BDP-S590 3D Blu-ray Disc Player with Wi-Fi $94.99 + FSSS + $20 Instant Video Credit

I had huge issues with them highlighting that phantom $50 discount when its been priced regularly at $94. In my haste and never seeing Amazon pull these cheesy marketing gimmicks, I purchased it without reading the fine prints. I was mad and complained about it. They ended up taking the $50 off so $24 for the player if you care at all the value of the video credit. For me, that's junk so I consider my net cost as $44.

Anyway, that's a pretty sweet deal if they were to take the $50 off. We'll see what CS says. If they take $50 off, that's a phenomenal deal.

Video credit is easy to use on seasons of homeland, walkingdead etc for those that don't have cable or all the channels. Nice player for those that insist they need blueray...for the 5x a yr they use them.

Easy to use buttons on the remote. Even 4yr kids can turn on netflix due to button on the remote.

I don't think they were saying you would get 50 off. The cs rep specifically said the rebate was included in the amount listed by amazon

i only see the price drop $50 if i get the credit card..... maybe i am just in need of another coffee..... but it still comes out to 100 even if i order through amazon

After having a bluray player for a few years, i can't even watch dvds anymore... Might as well throw a vhs tape in...

I called up CS and they credited $50 so i paid $44.99 for this bluray player... great find OP...

I purchased this player this morning. I emailed customer support about the rebate not being applied to my order. Customer service rep applied the rebate for me. This will be my second purchase of this model. I picked up one in December from Crutchfield for like $90. This is a great deal if you can get the rebate applied.

No go for me. I did the instant chat and got shot down:

Amazon: I see that the rebate is already included in the $94.99.
Me: Oh, I see. From the description it seemed like it was going to take $50 off during the checkout. So the price is just $94.99?
Amazon: Yes. That includes the rebate. I apologize for the confusion. The first line in the offer says "Your $50 Instant Rebate is included in the price offered by Amazon.com. "

i just found that the panasonic dmp bdt220 may be a better deal overall..... anyone have one, and can verify? thanks!

Maybe I should call. I tried with online chat and it didn't work so well with the rep I got.

I play blu-rays much more frequently than I rent movies via streaming or download. In fact, the only time I rent movies via streaming is whenever I get my hands on some free Amazon Instant Video credit.

Why spend money on a nice home theater set up if you're not going to treat yourself to the best possible audio and picture quality that blu-rays provide?
