I emailed them and got the $50 credit. Of course calling would be quicker. I sent them an email last night before I ordered. Checked my email this morning and was told to send them my order details once I ordered it. I ordered it this morning. Responded to their previous email. In about an hour I received the $50 credit.

I did chat with rep before placing an order with reason of confused text. But no go. Can someone post success story how they got $50 credit?

I was disappointed by the interface (expected it to be like the PS3, but it's slower and clunkier) - but for $20 after video credit, hell, buy it!

Did all or any of you who were denied point out to the CSR that it's been selling at under $100 with Amazon and 3rd party sellers on Amazon for the last 3 months, since the middle of November, so it doesn't appear that there is any actual rebate reflected in the current $95 price tag?

I purchased and then called...no dice. CSR said the price includes the $50 rebate. Depends on the rep you speak to, so YMMV.

My hat off to you sir. I called them up and CS took off the $50 while I proceeded through checkout over the phone. They told me to place the order and they will manually adjusted the price afterwards.

I did mention that in chat. I said 94.99 is price since while so it is misleading to say instant rebate. Rep told - amazon change its pricing frequently and it is clearly says "instant rebate included in price". I even asked for manager but rep said, manager will have same answer.

That's too bad.

Anyone happen to know if it's been showing the "instant rebate" language since November? Then I would say it's a legit offer. Otherwise, it's like when Macy's temporarily puts a price tag on an item that's double the normal price, just so they can mark it down 50% for a "sale." I hate that $#!+!

YMMV, i went through 3 of these Sony S590's, one bricked during its first required update, another stopped letting me use netflix on day 29 of the 30 day return policy for some odd reason it would load then cycle and i let it sit 3-4 times for more than 10 min and i finally returned it, and the 3rd one worked absolutely fine and i have till this day.
