Sony BDP-S590 3D Blu-ray Disc Player with Wi-Fi $94.99 + FSSS + $20 Instant Video Credit

I ordered on friday and noticed it wasnt taking the 50 off as well, talked to customer service who put me in touch with rebates and promotions dept. i was told to order the item and email them with order number and the issue. I emailed and by saturday morning the price on my order had been adjusted to reflect 50 bucks off. Just got it yesterday, gonna try it out. Its seems very ymmv by who you get and talk to.

Just bought one @ 12:48 AZ time and had them call me. I got denied as well.

I called three times and all CSR said that $50 already included in the price. I canceled the order. Here is the text they quoted:

I think the next sentence is what is creating some of the confusion, though:

"To take advantage of this instant rebate, click on the Amazon.com offer (above or in “More Buying Choices”), and add a Sony BDP-S590 3D Blu-ray Disc player to your Shopping Cart."

This makes it seem like you need to actually put the item in your cart before you see the discounted price, which undermines the notion that the $50 rebate has already been incorporated into the $94.99 price. Really, whoever put the text together for this promotion is the one who should be responsible for covering all the $50 rebates.

BTW, I just called customer service and they refunded $50 off the price. I told them the wording was confusing, and they agreed.

SUCCESS!!! Called and talk to a CS. Was very patient and polite as I gently argued the issue. She finally gave in. It was sort of like the ritual of dating...with the end goal of getting in her pants.

You guys are amazing when I called it was like the CS already knew what I was going to ask and almost said no before I even got it all out.

This is stupid, I hate how they have 'price not displayed'. WTF ,this is sleazy marketing. Good for those who got the $50 credit. Amazon is still the a$$hole for doing this.

Chat success! Canceled the one they wouldn't adjust the price on, and contacted a rep to order another player on my original adjusted order. Rep said, no problem took 3 minutes to add the blu-ray (checked, my order, it did have 2 now, but they were both at the $94.99 price ). I started panicing thinking I screwed up getting even one at this price, asked the rep why the price went up referencing my earlier post, she just said refresh the order page (price was adjusted to $44.99 each). With tax I'm just shy of $100, with $40 in video credit. Great deal!

This thing sucks. I canceled the order. Too much time spent on this stupid player.
