Hey guys, quick question, I recently got a X230t and it has a 4GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 1-Dimm RAM in it, I am thinking of upgrading to 8GB. Now my personal preference is to just buy a new 8GB set and have the matching pair.
Now this brings me to my question, since it is a 3rd gen i5-3320M, would it be able to take RAM that is higher clocked and use it at that speed, say DDR3 1866Mhz (possibly even the 2XXX range notebook RAMs)? Or even if it could use it, would it just downclock it back to 1600Mhz, does it support the higher clocked one?
