Free TurboTax Premier (Federal E File) Online for Fidelity customers

Technically, they can't refuse you a refund if you upgrade your product even if you have already filed. Just because its free for you doesn't mean they don't get paid. They get paid by Fidelity on your behalf, so tell the, it's illegal to charge you twice, once directly and second time through Fidelity. They have to honor your request of refund. Luckily, I didn't have to go through this fight, I just asked for refund and as given.

Online premier version is listed as on of the versions that allow you to import last years taxes. However, for some reason this one will not let you import last years turbotax file. The instruction say to go to Home and select to import last years return. There is no link.

I found a number of free links last week but when I went & read the fine print, the free version doesnt input anything from last year and they made it sounds like it was a lot easier to just pay. The old bait & switch.

Im AGI is under $57k so there is almost a dozen free ones to choose from.

However, what I liked about turbotax was it was really easy to input my data from my brokerage.

I found a link and it said I was getting premier for free. Entered most of my interest income and got to my stock info and fidelity doesnt have it ready yet.

So hopefully, when they get their data together it will still be free.

I think state was $36.99 or something which is fine.

I was able to import last year's info right from the first page when I started. if you missed that and it does not show up right now, you can follow these instructions (beware there is a loss of data if you do this - meaning anything you entered so far will be lost).

-Click on Home
-Select "Clear your 2012 return and start over"
-Now you should see an option to import last year's file.

Sorry, sort of new to filing taxes. I don't have much on my return from last year, is there any benefit to importing my tax information from last since I've already typed out all my personal information already?

Thanks for your response. I waited in the chat for an hour long and the CSR provided me a link to download all software and install in PC and imported last year info.

Now that this has hit SD, Fidelity will probably have to increase their expense ratios on their mutual funds

Last year BOA had a smiliar deal (for free) on turbotax deluxe version when you log into your acct. They usually provide that in the middle of feb or march
