Wish I would have seen this yesterday; just bought H&R block premier for 21 yesterday (thought it was a great deal at the time). Did this anyway and will compare to determine which one i use next year.

I paid $13.95 total for federal, state efiling on TaxAct. $37 just for state?! Pass.

FYI, if you used H&R Block last year, you can transfer the data to the TurboTax online version.
The download is supported. |

Still think the $21 H&R Block deluxe+state is a better deal for me. I do 4 people's taxes, and all live in NYS. NYS has a law that if your software efiles your federal return, you HAVE to efile your state return, and in this case the company CANNOT charge you extra for efile. So for $21, I got 4 fed+4 fed efile+4 state+4 state efile. I can live with that
and the only thing that TT has over HRB for me was that TT asked a lot more silly questions, downloaded my 1098 from chase (which is just 2 numbers) and filled out one form that HRB didnt (and I really didnt need). For my one sample, the returns were in $1 of each other (I think they rounded differently) Last edited by sonofagunk; 02-02-2013 at 08:53 PM.. |
