For other alternative that are free or low cost.

TaxACT 2012 Ultimate Bundle (included fed+state efile) $11.90 online version

TaxACT 2012 online and offline version FREE (with NO limitation and restriction). Free Fed e-file included.

H&R Block At Home Deluxe+State eFile FREE (check out the latest information in Wiki and the thread)

FREE State e-file options for 2012 Tax Return

Fidelity has terminated the free offer and replaced it with only a $15 off. If you have already signed up to Premier and found stuck with the $34.99 charge (check under /Tools/My Fee), you can start a chat with TurboTax and explain the situation. They will issue you a code to eliminate the charge. There are several posts in this thread showing the same result already.

Didn't work in Chrome or IE, worked in Firefox. Opens up the Intuit webpage in a new window, with a clear summary showing Deluxe= $19.99, Premier = FREE.
It appears we need to go through the first link. The "direct link" doesn't work. [Removed direct link since it depends on a request id set when you are redirected from the Fidelity site]

Per BrittanyR3049 (please Rep her in post 25)
If you are getting the no response issue, in Chrome I had to click the gray shield symbol on the right side of the address bar and click "load anyway." Then the page will reload and the link will work. It is a pop-up that says you are leaving the Fidelity website. - fletch113

You can get this free even if you don't have any money currently in Fidelity. My wife stopped working for her employer over 3 years ago, transferred her retirement, and we used her log in to get the free tax prep. I could have used my login, but I was lazy with finding the credentials. Used hers, and we're slick done with our taxes tonight. Thanks! ~ Standupdad

I just signed up for Fidelity Trading account just to get this deal. Took 10 minutes for signup. No annual fee. After I logged into the URL mentioned above, I got the FREE Turbotax premium. ~Katthibabu

Me too. No muss, no fuss, just a code so my taxes were completely free this year.

Very impressive customer service for a company that hasn't impressed me much lately.

I just spoke to customer service via chat and also got my federal return for free. I stated that I clicked through a link via Fidelity to get a free online return. The CSR asked me for the link I used and I gave her https://www.fidelity.com/premier She also asked me what I was seeing on my existing fees screen so I pasted that for her as well.

After a few minutes on chat I got the code for a free federal return. I didn't ask for state so I'll didn't get anything for that.

Just received my code as well via chat. Odd, I don't remember TTax changing promos mid-season in the past.

Finally got the code to file both state & federal for free. It took a total of 45 minutes via chat to get it. I was 8th in line. I had to push for the state code.

+1 for code via chat

Took me about 2 hours to get a rep, then 5-10 mins once I got one. The chat constantly updates the estimated wait time and how many are ahead of you so it's not awful

I chatted with 3 CSR and all denied to give me free code.

Got Federal e-file fee waived this morning. Started an online chat, explained that I had used the https://www.fidelity.com/premier link but fees appear. Explained that I am using the online version and not downloaded version. He agreed to give me a code to waive the fee.

how do you start a chat? I don't see any particular link. I started my return in january and upgraded to the free premier and am disappointed that now that I am finishing it shows fees.

Go to the Help Center at the top right and then it will open up a new window. Scroll down to the bottom and click on Contact Us. Ask the question along the lines of "I thought Turbotax Premier was free for Fidelity users?". Then it should give you options to chat or to call them. I just chatted with a CSR and got both Federal and State for free on tax day! Wahoo.

Thanks guys. Chatted with a CSR. First he agreed to give 50% discount. Then he decided to give code for free Premier.
