Sweet! I was on the look-out for an 8243 for both my face and head (gets a good thumbs up from a lot of head shavers) so I Pulled the trigger!

I currently use the ES8249. Is the ES8243A better/worse/same?

I've used several of these Panasonic razors, personally I don't think the arc 4 or arc 5 models do a noticeably better job than the arc 3 models. In fact, the arc 4 and arc 5 models I have used eat up battery life quicker and need to be recharged more often than the arc 3 models I have used. I realize people have different beards, but that is my experience.

Also, I think the vortex cleaning unit included with some models is overrated. It's very easy to rinse the shaver under running water with a little shampoo to clean it after you are done.

Also want to point out that many of the Panasonic shavers are no longer made in Japan, most are now made in China. While they still do a good job, the quality of the shavers has definitely taken a step or two backward. Not sure where these models are made.

Yeah, definitely noticed the battery on my Arc 4 is only about half that of my previous Arc 3.

how are these on the uh lower area,,,? Mach III has been okay but I would like something that doesn't rust or worse cut in that area....

The same. Only differences are the color and the the included clean and charge stand.

Agreed. 1/2 the battery life, but I noticed that my shave is a little faster and a little bit closer with the ARC 4... whether the trade off is worth it depends on the individual.

The ARC 4's I have are all "Made In Japan". The ARC 3's I have are all "Made In China".

What is the best shaver for my neck? It gets irritated really easily, even when I shave with Mach 3 or safety razor.
