Anything other than a .22 LR will be expensive in comparison at this time. Borrow a few different ones from a friend('s) or rent at a range and see how you like different ones. I have read peps opinions and I can give you some of mine but it may or may not work for you.

I will pass along one piece of advise that did make sense when I was searching for a new pistol for my wife, of course I knew what she needed see that I had several that I liked, researching a "girl" gun I read a lot of opinions and reviews then one day I found a post that said try her with different one and see what she likes and can use and what good is a gun if she does not like or cant use it or will not want to carry because it is too much for her, I am like I know whats best but that makes sense. Long story short, she liked the .22LR better then any of the others at the time (.380, 9mm, .45 ACP, 38 & 357). Now that she has in braced the fun she has progressed to .25 ACP and working up to a .380.

So get what you are comfortable with shooting and will "want" to carry with you all the time
and if that's a .22 or a .50 A.E, that will be just fine. You can always work up to a larger caliber. Any gun is better than no gun!
