How do we use multiple credit/debit cards on TigerDirect.com? Say, we have multiple prepaid cards from rebates. Thanks. Work smart. Play hard.

Unfortunately, you can't use multiple forms of payment at TigerDirect.com, at least not when ordering online. You may be able to use multiple forms of payment via phone, but I've never tried this. If you are talking about AMEX Prepaid Cards, you might want to try calling the Phone # on the back of the Card and telling them you are sick of having a bunch of cards lying around. In the past, they could consolidate multiple card balances onto one card, if you got the right representative. Another option is to use the cards to buy a TigerDirect.com Gift Card, and that would allow you to use multiple GCs on a purchase. However, if you buy TigerDirect gift cards, that will take some time to process (and for you to receive the card #), and they may charge a pre-authorization fee of $1, so you would probably only be able to order say, a $14 gift card with a $15 prepaid card. The $1 pre-authorization fee would eventually fall off (usually in 14 to 30 days), but then you would be left with a $1 card balance. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Btw, if you are calling the Phone # on the back of the card, you might want to start off the conversation by saying you would like a refund/check for several prepaid cards. Usually, the representative will ask you why, and then you can tell them you are sick of having a million cards lying around and its hard to keep track of all their balances. If you get a good rep, they might suggest consolidating the card balances onto one card. I've had a few reps suggest this, and I did take them up on it a few times. It's beneficial for AMEX to retain your prepaid card, because they charge the merchant a % just to run the card... plus they stand to make money if you don't use up the full balance within 6 months. Of course, if they are a jerk about it, you could always tell them you just want a check. This will take approximately 20 business days to arrive and you'll want to make sure to get a Claim ID # at the conclusion of the call. Do not let them off the phone without getting one. If they say they'll call you back in 24 hours with one, tell them that you would prefer to wait for them to process the request. Whenever they say they'll call in 24 hours, they never do, and usually that's when the refund request isn't completed. It's happened to me a few times, just wanted to save you the headache. |

HEADS UP
It appears that there is also a yellow LED fan that goes for $0.99 after rebate. Same deal, limit 3 except end price will be a $1 ea. Add this to the main section if you can! Yellow LED Fan $0.99 [tigerdirect.com] |

They get rejected. If the item total is less than the gift card value, your order will get rejected. The system makes you put in a credit card #, and charges your credit card $0.00, and that causes an order rejection. I wouldn't advise anyone to try it, unless they want to jeopardize receiving their items. I've had it happen to me twice before I realized what was going on. Others have experienced similar issues.
