Dxomark is really not a valid way to say one camera is much better than another. There is a lot more to it than that.

Scores are scores, not photos. Even so, it does not justified the 3x or even 2x price tag, because NEX is still a work in progress. For example, PDAF is still not implemented for video. My argument is: for those who are interested in video, what to do if that feature will be in the next NEX? Spend another $1000? And if I'm not interested in video, for the money I'd rather go for a DSLR as the NEX or M43 are still not pocketable, Panasonic's at least cost so little to own a point.

So even if PDAF was not implemented for video. How is that worse than having no PDAF at all in the M43 world? By the way, the NEX can do PDAF for stills and video. Just get a LEA2 adapter. Instant DSLR. As for the lower cost. You can get NEX C3s and 5Ns for the same cost or less than the G3.

I actually bought this 2 weeks ago at the then-EPP price of $899 with free 16MM Lens, and then I called now to get a price-match down to $809, though the free lens promotion is no longer running. The 16mm lens (unopened) net me $120 on Amazon so my NEX-6 kit-only price comes to $689. I got another $100 off through Sony credit card application for a final cost of $589. Not bad I think.
