I bought one tonight in the store. $99.99 with a $30 gift card. Been watching this one as it's been at $89.99 off and on for a few weeks. I thought they might clear it out, but looks like they're going the gc route first.
I have the Canon SX120 and I love it - takes great pictures. This one will be even better!
Jeebus, this was an ordeal for me. UPS gave delivery ETA 2/11, even got as far as "out for delivery", days passed with no notices or deliveries or even updates to the tracking page, so I figured this was a lost package, which happens infrequently enough to be acceptable (especially since Amazon and JoAnn.com told me their policy was to reship ASAP and just clear it up with UPS internally, which, btw, was also what UPS told me usually happens for these situations). I emailed Target on 2/15, outlining exactly this process (contact UPS, reship my order so I'm happy enough), got told they couldn't do that, pressed it harder on 2/18, still no, wait-and-see if it arrives by 2/22. Anyway, 2/22 and tracking info is still unchanged from 2/11, no deliveries, no surprise.
I get that couriers lose packages sometimes, but if they've got package tracking numbers, they've also got processes to halt delivery and chalk it up to their error so the stores using them can be proactive responding to shipping delays from lost packages. Since Amazon and JoAnn did me solid when it happened to those orders, I can only be annoyed at how Target's policies/procedures handle this same lost package issue.
Bottom line: if you shop Target.com, just hope to heck it doesn't get lost, or else you've got a couple weeks of "wait-and-see" Target customer service policy before getting a refund or reship.
I don't know how good the camera is, but I gave it a TU on price. But if SDers can rag on dailysteals and 1saleaday for crappy after-purchase handling on threads only related by the store name, then I think I can at least leave this here when I actually bought into the deal in the thread. FWIW, since obviously this thread's 12 days stale.
Actually, if anybody's still looking at this, how much does Target usually try to make up for a snafu like this one? All I got so far is a token $10 credit they freely gave, and I haven't pressed Target yet for something to "make it right".
Plus, Paypal purchases get refunds in form of store credit, not original payment. At least that one is posted as policy.
