If you can find 10 people (or 5 people who all want 2 each), then the bulk pack is a better deal. But I only needed 2 (P-38 on keychain and P-51 for kitchen) so I only wanted to spend $2. Spending $5-6 when you only need to spend $2 isn't technically spendthrift. If one only needs 1 and can make sure it doesn't get lost (and that happens) then maybe get two. I put the big one in a AA battery holder, then that goes right into the utensil tray, so it doesn't get misplaced/lost.

I use the P-51 on those oval sardines cans or those strange shape cans those big can-openers doesn't like for some reason.

Dang, Up to $2.02 now. Going for the 10 pack for $5.95 ass I wanted 2 P51's. Reviews for the 10 pack say hobbytoolsupply shipped the Shelby original USGI ones so I picked that seller hoping I'll get US Sherlby's rather than Chinese knock-offs..

I'm done with more expense can openers that keep on breaking. These things work and last forever. Providing one does not misplace them. Which is what I did with my current one. I use these to oipen dog food cans so currently my trusty Swiss Army knife is performing opening duties.

Guess I have to get one of those whistling keyfobs and hook that to the P51 so I can just whistle for it.

I'll stick one in each of my vehicles as well as 2 in my hurricane kit.

The Original "Shelby" company went out of business long ago, so I don't know who is actually making these. I am attaching two images, with my Toyota car key as reference to let you see the relative steel thickness. there is stamped ribs as reinforcement down the length of the opener, so it's pretty strong.

Website indicates BRAND: SHELBY. Also more expensive (P51 10pc=$8.94/FS). Smaller version (p38) available: 1pc=$2.90/FS.

I keep a P38 on a key ring with a short section of heat wrap tubing around it to keep it closed and protect others stuff from the point.

Honestly, I think the tiny P38 works just about as well as the P51 for a lot less bulk and weight.... and every year there are fewer cans that require an opener anyway.

Ahhh, brings back memories of Basic Training and Field Duty.
