I remember seeing some brands of sardines come with this type of can opener included. Not a fan of sardines, so I'm not sure if that's still the case, but my mother eats them once in a while and she has some of the can openers that she saved.

I have had a P-38 on my key chain since the seventies and I have used it countless times for countless tasks. As others have reported, I too have got my finger stuck when reaching for my keys, but I see that as an acceptable collateral damage for all the valuable uses it provides while taking up little little space.


FYI. Since I have owned mine from enlistment, I have had my P-38 confiscated (Post 9/11) twice at airports. It just depends which airport you pass through. In each case, I paid postage to have it mailed back to my residence. That's how much I value my P-38..
