I am struggle with 2270DW $100 and this 2240D $70.....which one is better deal or better model?

Just by looking at the model numbers I'd say it depends on whether you need a wireless printer or will expect to need one in the near future. According to the model numbers you provided the 2270DW is a duplex and wireless printer while the 2240D is only a duplex printer.

I really hate all these wires around my desk and chair,
but on the other hand I am not sure if this emotional preference worth $30 dollar difference...

i will say this about wireless printers, they are a PITA to reset when their configured IP gets taken by another device on your network.

As for printer - it's a great little machine and highly recommended.

As for price - it's good, but it's been possible in the past to do better.

As soapdeity says, it depends on if you need/want the wireless. Other than that I think they're the same printer.

I'd look at it this way: you've already got one wire going to the printer (the power cable). Assuming it's coming from the same general location as the computer, you're not avoiding cables. $5 will buy you a lot of small zip ties to join the power and USB printer cables together, and you're still $25 ahead of the wireless printer. Also, you've avoided the setup headache.

Therefore, unless what you want is a printer that can be used from multiple devices around your home, I'd advise that the wireless probably isn't worth the hassle.

Why don't you reserve the IP in your router/dhcp server?

For a static device, use a static IP. Then, reserve the IP (based on the printers MAC address) in your router. You will never have a problem and you will always know the IP if you put it on a label, on the printer.

Also, this printer does not have network connectivity, only USB.
