metal rack is useless for these bits. i actually use my metal rack as a decorative pen holder for my desk at work lol. i put a miniature american flag through one of the holes too. other holes i have a rod with a clip holding family photos etc. like i said, the rack is useless for the bits if you are creative you can find other uses for it.

i store the spade bits in one of those plastic divider organizers that i bought yesterday from Home Depot (that 3-pack thing for $4). i tend to buy my bit sets in bulk instead of paying extra for the "holders" and "cases" packs, so those plastic containers have been extremely useful.

Will this work on PVC pipes?
As long as I keep it nice and slow maybe using water for cooling will it work?
I need to make holes to put a bulk head to diy filter for my fish tank.

Just out of curiosity, can you use an impact driver with these??

I wonder if the would be any easier/harder to control..

I only thought of it because they have what looks to be the quick loading type attachments at the base of the spade that my impact bits have...

I've heard spade bits work better with impact drivers, but I've never tried it myself. If you're not looking for precision drilling, I don't see why it would be a problem.

I don't think that they would give you any advantage over a regular drill.

I should mention that an auger drill bit does not loose it's edge near as quickly as a traditional drill bit does when working with wood. Lasts much longer.
