Best afford. DSL for SF, Bay Area?
So I moved to this expensive city from Concord and I needed new internet. My last service was with Sonic and they were awesome but now moving here means I can't afford it. Does anyone know a good DSL service that's cheap and has reliable CS? but don't mention ATT.
I used to be with ATT but they were a b*tch to deal with and I don't want to rely on the retention dept to help renewing my contract but if there's nothing else then I might have to go with it.
Currently I'm debating if I should go with DSLX because they are offering 3MBps/512kup for $14.95 which is almost or the same as ATT U-verse. I don't know if I can renew the contract to keep the same price after the year ends? Also DSLX still requires a stupid landline service just to use it right? If so, then I need to check with them to see if they offer ULTS.
Any of you SF'ers or Bay Area residents have good suggestions? Please don't suggest cable from comcast or whatever, because I just mentioned I moved here, and the rent is killing me over here. I just need basic internet to do research, but reliable enough to stream videos online and maybe playing a few games here and there online on my PS3 with my friends who residents in Cali without having lag.
