I returned my kindle fire. The HD content on amazon prime wasn't working. What is the point of the kindle HD if you can't stream in HD

For $269 i'd say its a deal. If you are a rooter, the B&N nook HD is a far better device, you just have to deal with a non usb charger. If you can deal with that, its good.
Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 21 weeks, 4 phone calls. Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |

I paid $300 as an early adopter it, so I consider this a great deal. I had every intention of rooting it, but once I had it for a while decided not to. Fact is, IF YOU HAVE PRIME ALREADY, this is an AMAZING media consumption device. If you want to mess around with a ton of Apps it's not such a great deal - no google play - BUT - 90% of what I do is stream videos, use some basic apps, read books, and listen to audiobooks. I haven't had a Nexus or IPAD so I can't speak to those, but I haven't regretted this purchase at all. The cloud media storage is a nice bonus, the web browser is adequate, the screen, audio, and touch responsiveness are great. I haven't found a way to use OMD or similar for library audio, or to use ripped audiobooks, yet. Short of that, I strongly recommend it (if you have or are getting Prime.)

Here's something to think about. People can install FREE Linux on their PCs that they bought with Windows. But how many actually care to and / or want to go to the trouble when they're able to do the things they want to do in Windows? |

Thinking about getting a new tablet, but I'd like to use both my Amazon Prime content and the Google productivity suite. Seems Amazon Instant Video would be a problem on say, a Nexus 7 (in addition to my fear of all its defects) and the Google suite would be a problem on a KF HD...
Nice find on the deal anyhow. Thumbs up. |
