Why is there no promotion on Kindle paperwhite? I don't like kindle fire!

For example, sideloading apk's on the kindle is pretty easy, essentially endowing it with full-fledged android capabilities (though you may come across a few apps that don't work.) If I had not already got in on the $260 ASUS TF300T deal about a month ago, I'd definitely consider this deal. Oh, and rooting a kindle or any other tablet is really for us geeks. I've rooted or set up dual boot for three tablets -- imho tinker appeal is more compelling that the few $$$ reduced cost. If you want an android, just find a native android tablet deal and be done with it. |

Amazon has no business developing software, you can tell by the crappy Android shell they can't come up with a slick UI that doesn't lag.
Android 4.1 is about as smooth as iPad and Amazon's Android ICS shell is laggy as hell. They should just stick to selling stuff and let the pros deal with hardware and software. |
