Ivy Bridge Processor will be outdated in April would pass and get the new Haswell in April.
For what we know haswell might be inferior ( performance wise / oc stability) to ivy. And there's no official release date for haswell. If you have more info specs/ release date feel free to post it. But to say it will be "better" only because you say so is a dif thing. Also intel is known for not offering price discounts on their "old" chips. You buy it now or in 4 months you pay the same. Microcenter sells it for less because they make up the dif with the motherboard's . But any enthusiast would rather pay a bit more and have the luxury to pick his own parts...tomshardware gives release date for haswell on June 2nd. Haswell might have a 10% performance increase over ivy @ stock but it might not OC for shitz . Anyway here is the most comprehensive info I could find http://m.geek.com/geekdotcom/#!/e...6c8e396f9e ( I hope the link works )
TU for the under $300 price. I have been keeping an eye on the prices, and they have been creeping up on this CPU. It's not the hottest deal ever, but it is the best recent price for those who need the CPU now.
BTW, for those with a TigerDirect store nearby, i5-3570K is $189.99 + tax in store.
