To add to this, you can hack the GF2/3 to use higher bitrates. Nowhere near the GH2/3 and not actual 1080p, but nowhere close to an iPhone.

Still a bit clumsy as a video camera due to its limitations and it functions pretty much on full auto.

I dont want to spend any more money on the 1 series. With the flash and 30-110mm lens, I have too much invested in the camera already. I love the video, but there is not enough detail in the pics, and the images are too noisy. I am using Photoshop Elements ACR to process the pics.

The Nikon V1 has great video quality. But the IQ left me wanting more. I am not sure if I am just expecting too much.

If anyone in Northern VA wants a black V1 instead of their Panasonic GF3x.... let me know

My favorite thing I did was get the Sigma lenses. B&H is an awesome company and those two lenses at $200 truly is a "slick"deal. With that said, I love the 30MM so much that I end up keeping it on all the time. I saw it on its own for $149 on eBay I think it was... I don't know if it would be worth paying $150 to you or not for one lens when it is $100 each in the B&H deal. But for me, I am really happy with the Sigma lenses. They are "fast" as they say with a low Fstop and they are so crisp. I read that they are the best lenses (not only for the money, but all round) for the Sony NEX and I can certainly see why on my Panasonic. I think you would love them, but this does put your whole setup in the $500 range and it is always a tough call because the Cannon T3 is in that range...

For putting in a cargo pocket, it is definitely possible with 30 Sigma, but I have to admit that it still is bigger than I thought it would be. In my mind, the 14MM lens would be amazing, but I don't have that kind of money to shell out. You could easily put the 30 Sigma on your GF5 and toss it in a purse or small bag though without worry!

One other thing that I adore about the GF5 that you can't get with point-and-shoot is I have purchased some $15 adapters and I can now put my friend's Cannon and Pentax lenses on my camera. I bought some amazing old lenses too that take pics on full manual (no auto when they are adapted with a cheap metal adapter), but the quality is on par with any of my friends with T4i Cannons and even beyond that.

Excuse me as i'm just moving from point and shoots to this level of photogrophy, but which lens would you prefer, the sigma 30mm or the pz 14mm that comes with this camera? I am hoping for good performance in indoor / lower light situations and for out door hawaii beach vacation pictures. I know probably different situations require different lenses and i need some guidance.

Received. It's GF3X.

Received the two, black and red, both came with the PZ lenses mounted (no caps for lens rear and body sensor). Both body and lens are made in japan.

I made briefly two test shots with the PZ lens mounted on my G5, no blur issue so far. However, the edges are blurry like all kit lenses (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic...) except Panasonic 14-45 which has virtually no blurry edges and will be kept by me forever.
