Low-power thin client PC

I don't know if you need something as small as a booksize PC, a Mini-ITX or MicroATX build might be small enough too.

You can't change the motherboard or CPU in these, but you get to add your own HDD/SSD and memory and if you really want to, you can swap the WiFi card although it's underneath the motherboard so is not as easy to access.

You might not need to do that since it looks like newegg put the Foxconn nt-A3500 [newegg.com] back on sale for $130. The best deal I've seen for these was $110 AR with a free SSD. I don't know if a deal like that will come around again. This is a barebones system so it will require a 2.5" HDD/SSD and a single stick of 204-pin DDR3 laptop memory as well as an operating system.
