I can't do a direct comparison since I don't own the Exogear, but I do own that iottie.

I like the iottie a lot, but it's not absolutely perfect. I own an Evo 3D and have the iottie attached to the dash of my '99 Nissan Maxima. When I first tried to mount the iottie, I had no luck, it fell off pretty quickly. I imagine it's because I didn't clean off my dash first, so the next day I wiped my dash with some rubbing alcohol and stuck it back on. It hasn't moved since.

Temperatures here have been cold recently, around 30-40 degrees. We had a couple days that hit around 70 for some unknown reason, and it hasn't seemed to affect the suction as it is still where I put it.

The issues I have with the iottie:

There seems to be a lot of vibration in the mount. My phone shakes a lot, but that's not too much of an issue until the screen dims during long periods of navigation where there's nothing for it to do, which causes more reflection from the glass on the screen.

The other issue I have is actually with the mounting mechanism. This may be less of a problem with newer, slimmer devices, but the button inside gets pressed easily before I get my entire phone pushed all the way back, so sometimes it only catches a portion of the top edge of my phone (and all of the bottom). Now, it holds fine even like this, but I'm anal and always make sure it has a super secure grip.

My final thoughts:

I love the iottie, and I think my issues with it are probably going to be very similar to other mounts. I don't think you'll find much of a difference in suction between this exogear and the iottie, as they use the same technology for the suction pad. I think the exogear might have more options as far as mounting and angles, and the way it holds the phone seems like it may be even more secure. I ultimately chose the iottie since it looks like it mounts and folds to a lower profile, so I feel more comfortable just leaving it on top of my dash. With that said, I'd love to try an exogear and see how it compares, but I can't see buying another mount right now since my current is working fine.

You slide it into yoru CD drive, twist a knob to tighten, then you just leave it there! I've been using this thing for 2 months, and it is great.

I've used a suction before, now I have a light halo on my windshield that I can't get rid of...any ideas on how to get rid of it?

I also have one iottie. the small one. got it at about 12usd deal. it and it's brother (the bigger version) went down to about 10 bucks in former deals.
My iottie one's sucking plate is super strong. Once want to more it down from my windshield, caused my quite some time and effort.
Feel like my iottie's clamping structure is not quite strong enough, so have to put my phone horizontal to make sure the phone will not slide down. And, as their is a spring button there, so can not press the phone touching well on the back surface. That cause some vibration.
And, the angle tuning structure can not be lock. While apply some force when put or detach the phone, the position will change slightly. I use my phone for recording when driving, the angle is critical. Another model of iottie should have not this problem, as it has lock knobs on both axes.

Picked one up - I have a case on my S3 and I can't get a good stand for it. Looks like this will last a while and is pretty compatible with future phones.
