It's still worth it without it. $140 after selling games. It should go out of stock soon. I've been refreshing it all week until it just came back into stock. Only NCIX seems to have the rebate on it. Newegg doesn't have it. So rebate adds to the value as well.

I changed the title. They seem to have disabled refer a friend so it only works if you had a coupon on the account previously.

Yeah basically when they enabled refer a friend a few weeks ago it didn't have a limit of $200+. So people would use it on $20 off $20 and alot of people abused the refer a friend so I guess they disabled it. But my coupon still stayed on the account since I never used it.

Tough choice honestly. Here is a review where they overclock a 660 ti and the 7870 Myst+

They are basically neck and neck. But the biggest bonus with the Myst+ I can see is that you're getting 2 unreleased games and not Assassins Creed 3 / Borderlands 2 which are already released and only sell for like $15.

Nothing wrong with selling the games, it brings the cost of the GPU way down. Then in 6 months, you can scoop those games up for cheap.

Ha, yeah, it's probably for the best. I actually tried to score this exact deal last week, but then it went on back order. Then came this new Never Settle bundle of games on Newegg and it encouraged me to buy TWO new video cards as a result....Then NCIX comes back with this original deal!

The thing that makes this card special is it is NOT really a 7870 (Pitcairn) but essentially a trimmed down 7950 (Tahiti), performance is very close to a 7950. It overclocks like a beast, I got mine up to 1200mhz and probably could push it further if I had a better case (it turns into a space heater at that point!).

Downsides? Power usage is also identical to a 7950, and the fan on this sucker is loud. It is also the same size as a 7950 so be sure you have the space.

I am very tempted to buy this to crossfire it..

I'll also mention that I keep mine at 1150mhz and it performs faster than a standard 7950 GHZ. This is by far the best performance/$ on the market right now (at the cost of power usage/fan noise).

Thank you, extremely useful information - too often people post BS, "this card will OC to a xillion core guaranteed get it awesome woot" misinformation, so real feedback is highly appreciated.

Bummer to hear about the noise and power, guess that makes this more of a cut-rate, voltage locked 7950 than a 7870...
