Or, if you're really upset with the latest rule change, you can sign a "We the People" petition on the White House's website that calls for the Librarian of Congress to "rescind this decision, and failing that, champion a bill that makes unlocking permanently legal."

The 3g is fine to carry around as a way cheaper ipod touch, especially at this price. Even though you wont be able to run "HD" apps cause of the display, you still have enough space for apps.
FYI, my iphone can use its location services without a plan. |

fair price for a phone like this? never been a fan of iphones, but could use one for test phone or just fun by the side... or for travel, who knows...
might just order a bunch and pick a cherry... I hope Page Plus has this plan: 500-600 min, 800-1500 text, and 50-100 MB data for $19.95

fyi: accessories (usb cord, charger and headphones) are aftermarket, usb cord and wall charger looked ok to me but headphones worth not more than 99 cents

Go 3GS if you actually plan on using it as a PHONE. I got an iPhone 3GS 16GB on Friday for development work since it actually runs iOS 6 (the 3G stops at 4.2.1 officially. It'll be roadblock on a lot of popular apps on the App Store requiring iOS 5 or later).
Mine was on iOS4, updated to iOS6 and it's mediocre at best. Obviously I don't expect it to perform like my Nexus 4 or the newer iPhones, but for the age of the hardware, it does quite well. Google Maps Navigation works for me. Apple Maps...uh....well I did the jailbreak to enable navigation (disabled on the 3GS), but it's like...not usable at all for navigation. Google's is better in my opinion anyway. Long story short, when the 3GS first came out it was supposed to be "twice as fast" as the 3G. Oh god. I would never want to use a 3G then if this is "twice as fast". Lots of lag, again usable, but just keep with expectations. I'm happy with it for now because it runs iOS 6 and has the older bootrom so I don't have to do tethered jailbreaks. iOS devices are always so freaking picky about that.
