k400 is a pretty popular htpc keyboard, it's about 14"X6", comes with unifying dongle, wait and you can get it cheaper, normal price at target is actually $30 and same from Staples from time to time

The K400 is WAY bigger than the Lenovo, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's like the size of a bluetooth keyboard for an iPad or similar. Also the K400 is not back lit which is nice with an HTPC if you want to watch movies etc with the lights down.

Lenovo sales is terrible, once again.
I placed two orders for different items, one they misspelled my name, the other they left part of the address out, and like I said above when I called they couldn't make any corrections.
Today I got an e-mail saying credit card cannot be charged, so orders were cancelled. What a joke! I never had this problem when I bought my computers from them in the past.
Anyway, I checked my credit card activity the charges are there, and PENDING! WTF Lenovo? Sooo I just called them and I am on the phone, after a Latino/Hispanic dude picked up the phone and put me on hold, counting 9 minutes 50 seconds, with no hold music of any kind and with no "I am still working on it".. Just plain blank.. I am hanging up and will call again, this is such a mess. OK, finally he came back on at 11:30 mark as I was about to hang up, I need to place the order again. DO NOT USE chat or phone sales to place your order, they mess it up.

Can any1 comment about the stand?? is it strong enough to support the laptop with 6lb and 15.6"?

is it good to use if you sit on the floor??

That is the one I picked up last week and returned within 15 minutes.

That remote is entirely line of sight, so you must have a clear path looking directly at the receiver unit, and it only goes about 10 feet. The Lenovo does 20-25 and doesn't have to be line of sight.

That remote is a lot bigger than it looks too, about the size of a normal letter envelope, and decently heavy. The Lenovo remote is about the size of a cell phone.

edit: It doesn't suck, I suppose. Just for my two HTPC setups, I hide them behind a desk or tv/monitor, and so a large LoS does not work for me. Also, those remotes do not have the keyboard light up. Having to stand up and walk closer was also a pain in the ass after I was all comfy and warm with the lady and dog.

Because most people cancelled their cable and installed a PC next to or behind their TV's and they are all looking for comfortable/reliable/functional keyboard/mouse combo.
Only if Lenovo or other manufacturers coupled IR remotes with these keyboards so we can control TV and PC at the same time, then I would be one happy camper! I still hate the fact that I have to reach for TV remote to turn TV on/off, change inputs, adjust volume (of TV or AV receiver, for that matter) etc..

Thanks for your input (repped!). I have been thinking about getting the Logitech keyboard but since you mentioned that it requires line of sight, that's an instant "No" for me as I have already tried two different keyboard mouse combo and I had issues with both in controlling my HTPC.

Also, since this is small size keyboard, it will be handy to use with my Windows 8 tablet for short inputs like URLs or typing in search bar instead of using the onscreen or full size keyboard.

They keyboard is okay, but certainly not as good as a cell keyboard, meant for heavy texting use. If you're typing in a few things here or there, it's just fine, but I've typed about 200 words in the past year in mine. It won't fail or break, but it's one of those clackety-clackety-clackety keyboards, and depending on how fast you may text, the order might get jumbled up. I think I've only used it for putting in Windows 8 serial keys, and maybe typing the first few letters into Netflix to suggest the movie/tv show. Although, again, the back lighting (and it's nice and clear) more than makes up for it though.

I did it through the amazon payments and that worked fine. Did you try that?

I got my cancellation done and called them back to reorder, now I got a totally different experience, and a totally different, professional sales person who sounds like he knows what he is doing. I am on hold for him to get price approval. This one was as smooth as it can be. The only problem is their online ordering system is still weird and acting up.
