Samsung Laptop Series 3 17.3" Laptop i7/8GB/1TB $650

pretty good. i also like the lenovo Y580 for it's gaming prowess too. But instead of a 2nd hard drive bay it has a mSATA slot for special SSDs. A bit more expensive than what you paid though...closer to the $800-900 range.

Yeah definitely, for me it was not worth the extra $200. Right now is the time to get deals on Asus G73's cause just about everyone who wanted the latest and greatest, sold or is in the process of selling their old ones for the new G75 series. So for people who got the patience check out ebay. I got mine I think 6 months ago now maybe 8 and I lucked out. It must have been a slow week on ebay cause it was between $650-$700 don't remember the exact figure. Yes it was used but the seller I purchased from had a 30 day return policy so it was worth the shot.

With the older I7 i was a bit worried at first, but after installing it and playing Shogun total war 2 and Dues Ex without a problem, i was really happy with my purchase.

One other thing to take into consideration, I don't think the Y580 has back lighting on the keyboard, Lenovo for some reason gives the back lighting option to only a few models. I definitely could be wrong about this, just something to double check if your looking at it.
