I guess it kind of gets old after a while but at least it's not sitting at a desk every day.
True, a job is a job I guess. But you are right, there is no way I can ever get back to sitting in a cubicle or at a desk again. At least my work is a bit of an adventure every time I go.
I wouldn't want to travel out of the country on a weekly basis. When it's for work, it's not much fun at all. The big perk I see with it is ridiculous amounts of free miles, upgrades, and tickets but traveling every single week, when are you going to use any of them for personal travel?
It becomes natural after a while. Unfortunately I don't get miles as I work for an airline. But I do fly for free when I want to go somewhere...
And it does keep me from hanging out on SD too much spending money!
I checked it out at my local OM. Looks ok, and has a fairly nice built in luggage lock (although not 100% secure, as it locks the zipper tabs). I don't think the lock is TSA approved. Size is fairly small, as mentioned previously. Material is listed on the website as "polycarbinat", but is definitely ABS plastic (for you polymer-nerds out there). Red color is ok, but a little on the pink side, champagne looks like dirty silver. Wheels look fairly solid, and are soft material, so may not drive you crazy by the time you drag it through the tiled terminal. Interior is probably the highlight, with both a double Y strap and a mesh divider (Mesh divided section takes one half, looks ok. Liner is polyester, and zippered on both sides, with access to the shell side and the handle assembly. Handle seems a little light, but fairly solid, and has several lock stops for different heights. The bag rolled well vertically, and seemed ok when pulled behind, but I suspect it would be a little hard to drag if it were filled with wine bottles or something, due to flex in the handle shafts.
I ended up passing, although there were several in stock at Dallas-Cityplace. I just needed a bigger bag, and either want ballistic nylon or polycarbonate for durability. The MSRP is outrageous at $100, but at $20 it is a good small bag for overnight or weekend travel. I want something to use as a check bag, but want the absolute biggest bag that will fit in the overhead if I need to carry it on. It would be a good cheap bag to use as a shell for your camera bag as a carry-on.
lol...really? man...now i am contemplating a return without going to the store..
Just picked it up and I found it quite nice for $25....Definitely not worth $99 though hah. It has a zipper lock, the hard shell plastic is decent quality, and it spins 360 degrees! As a previous person mentioned...putting in foam is a viable option. I thought about that myself---I will be taking this on a short business trip 4 nights, 5 days...we'll see if it'll handle NYC!
I couldn't find instructions to change the default combo on the zipper lock. Did yours and if so, can you share how to do it?
