I've ordered twice. Both times they had a very faint scratch a few inches long. The kind you have to look at a certain angle. I've been very pleased both times.

My B570 took a while, like 4-5 days, my ThinkPad took 2 days.. plus transit time. I think the first one shipped UPS Ground (this was 6-8 months ago) and my latest ThinkPad from two weeks ago shipped UPS 2nd Day Air.

Thank you for sharing. My mom has been looking for a good deal on a laptop and this is right in her budget. Just saw it this morning and had her order. Hopefully it comes through.

Pentium CPU benchmark is 1905. Yours is 1495.
Biggest difference you're going to see is the OS. I don't think you'll notice much difference in speed. But you could probably sell yours for $195 on CL, which means a decent upgrade for about $50. Yours probably has better speakers, and the GPU is still decent. The GT240 is 40% faster than the HD4000. I don't know if the GT240M is a slower version or not. You are probably also stepping down in quality as far as chassis and keyboard.

The units I've ordered in the past looked brand new, were even in original packaging, etc.

Here's a refurb story: my shop received PCs that we only realized later had under-spec'd CPU. (Dell mistake; we inventoried by manifest only--which reflected what we ordered--stored them about 6 wks.) On exchange, Dell rep said the returned units would be sold refurb...even though 58 of the 60 boxes had never been opened. The CPU was capable enough, but had dropped below their model standard.

man I just cannot find a good deal on laptops before they are sold out...

I ordered one of these but I'm thinking about possibly returning or selling it depending on how it compares to the Lenovo U510 I just bought from Staples on sale for $500. I want a laptop that won't be so outdated since I plan on using it for a while.

Is the G385 [lenovo.com] at the same website for $224 inferior to the one in the OP?
