I've had mine (from this seller) for a little over a year now. Other than the noise (which I associate with age and gradual loss of motor lubrication) and having to buy a new BPA-free jar (the jar you get is not BPA free and I did not feel like using it given the way it looked), its still running fine. These are basically fine machines that are built to last a lifetime of residential use or several years of commercial use. I just wish I had spent my $240 (unit + new jar) towards a new blender instead. I should also add that the residential unit will fit under most kitchen cabinets. This unit is rendered taller by both the base and sound shroud and it is likely that it will not fit. Last edited by riggedveda; 02-06-2013 at 01:05 PM.. |

I remember watching this video before I bought my blender last year. I'm 99% sure VMinnovation had a link to it at one point and I'm guessing this is where they sourced the product.

im trying very hard to decide between this blendtec and the vitamix 5200 at costco for 400 (w/tax)
blendtec pros less than half the price smaller height can fit under cabinets sound shield makes it quiter vitamix pros peace of mind coming from costco - with 8year/lifetime warranty I like the vitamix plunger better i like the vitamix controls better its brand new warranty is one of the biggest factors for me. I want my blender to last at least 5-8 years with the vitamix, i KNOW it will - but is that certainty worth more than twice the price? couldent I just buy blendtecs within 8 years? or does it come down to personal preference one the blender type? what do you guys think? |
